I schedule one dog at a time from start to finish and book every appointment with your dogs’ needs in mind. Please respect the time of other customers. Please pick-up pets no later than 30 minutes after I have called to inform you that your pet is ready to go home. $10 Fee will be charged if late and an additional $10 for every 15-minute increment thereafter per dog.

Vaccines:

I don't believe in Over Vaccinating.

Dogs do not need to be up to date on vaccines. By signing my consent form, you are acknowledging that your dog is in generally good health with no known health issues or diseases of any kind & up to date on Puppy Vaccines & at least 1 Rabies Vaccine.

By signing my consent form, you are acknowledging that your Dog(s) do NOT have Worms, Fleas, Ringworm or Lice. Under No circumstances will I groom any Dog(s) with Worms, Fleas, Ringworm or Lice. I do NOT remove Worms, Fleas, Ringworm or Lice - if your dog has this you will be notified immediately to come get your dog & you will be charged a $75 clean up fee - due to the time it will take me to sanitize / fumigate my grooming area as well as all my tools & the loss of a groom.

Before you bring your pet to the Groomer some things to look for:

Senior and Special Needs Pet Release Form:

Grooming a Senior, or Special Needs Pet, can be incredibly stressful to the pet. Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming works extremely hard to make the grooming experience as comfortable as possible. To accomplish this, I groom for the pets’ comfort and cleanliness. I will only groom what your senior pet will allow me to do comfortably. The cut will be in a style that will cause the least amount of stress as possible. Because many Senior and Special Needs Pets have pre-existing health issues, their risk of an injury during grooming is greater. Grooming a Senior, or Special Needs Pet can also expose hidden medical issues and, or aggravate current medical issues during and, or after the grooming. All care possible will be taken in the grooming of your pet. Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming also holds the right to groom your pet only as far as the pets’ comfort will allow. If your pet shows any discomfort during the grooming, the grooming will stop, and you will be asked to pick up your pet immediately. The safety and comfort of your pet is my number one concern. I ask that all Senior and Special Needs Pets are picked up immediately, or no later than 30 minutes after I have called to inform you that your pet is ready to go home. In event of an Emergency, you give permission for Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming to seek Veterinarian assistance, you give Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming permission to take your pet to the closest available Veterinarian for care. If Veterinarian care is needed, I will do my best to contact you at I, the undersigned, understand the above and I authorize Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming to seek Veterinary care for my pet in case of an Emergency. I the owner agree to pay all charges if Veterinary care is needed and provided. 

Matted Pup: 

Reasons Why I don't De Mat

It is a pet owner’s responsibility to brush/comb and maintain their pets coat between grooming. When a pet becomes matted it is necessary to remove the hair on the matted pet. I, the pet's owner, leave it up to the discretion of the groomer Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming to decide what is the most humane way to remove the mats on my pet. Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming has explained to me that the matting on my pet can be difficult to remove and will require extreme care and extra grooming time. This may result in extra grooming fees. I understand that the groomer must use whatever blade will safely cut between the matted coat and my pet's skin, giving the groomer no choice in the length of hair left on my pet. Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming have also explained that the matting may have already caused my pets skin to be raw and cracked from trapped moisture and urine causing fungus and bacteria to grow. Once the matted coat is removed, I understand that sores, hot spots, and skin irritations, etc. maybe found. In extreme cases, maggots may be found in open sores. 

Matted/Pelted fur can often harbor lice, Fleas & Ringworm - if your dog has this you will be notified to come get your dog & you will be charged a $75 clean up fee - due to the time it will take me to sanitize / fumigate my grooming area as well as all my tools & the loss of a groom. I do not hold Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming responsible for effects caused from shaving the mats off my pet. Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming will bathe my pet in a Medicated Shampoo to help relieve some of the irritation my pet's skin may have from the matting, and, or removal of the matting. Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming will also inform me if my pet needs Veterinarian attention because of the matting. I have also been warned that depending on how short my pet's coat had to be taken, I may need to keep my pet out of the sun until the hair has grown back enough to protect the skin. In some cases, pets may also experience temporary behavioral changes, such as, but in limited to embarrassment or shyness.

I understand that while all care will be taken by Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming in removing the mats from my pet, there is always the risk of a nick, cut or abrasions due to unseen warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. As the owner, I am responsible for the condition of my pet's coat as presented to Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming. I have read and understand the information above. I hereby release Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming from any problems that may be uncovered or occur during the grooming process. I agree to pay all charges for said service. Should my pet require Veterinary care during or after the grooming, I authorize Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming to provide necessary treatment for my pet and I the owner agree to pay all Veterinary fees.

I will only shave down the dog once due to being heavily matted; if the dog comes in again heavily matted, I will ask you to go to another groomer. I do not tolerate neglect.

Double Coated:

Reason To Not Shave Down A Double Coated

The question remains then, why not shave them and just keep them out of the sun? For one, they may not actually be cool even if they are out of the sun, the topcoat can help to keep the heat off the skin itself and unlike people, dogs do not sweat through their skin. Dogs sweat by panting and through the pads of the feet. Shaving them removes some of their natural ability to stay cool. Another reason is that when the hair does begin to grow back it tends to do strange things. For some, it may mean having patches that do not grow at all, or that do not grow both types of coat layers (top and under), older dogs often have issues with proper regrowth and then for others (which happens most often) the undercoat grows in faster than the topcoat (since the topcoat is not meant to shed extensively it grows extremely slowly) so now that protective topcoat is matted into the undercoat. Dogs like this generally appear as though they have thyroid issues. The hair looks fuzzy and varies in length all over the body. This does not mean the coat will forever stay this way. Most of the time with regular brushing and the next shed cycle the topcoat will get longer while the undercoat sheds away, eventually leaving the coat the way it once was with long topcoat guard hairs and a thick shorter undercoat. One other thing to note about those topcoat guard hairs – they prevent the dog from getting wet. Due to the coarseness of the guard hairs water rolls off this topcoat keeping the undercoat dry, this in the winter is important to keeping the dog warm and dry.

No Show & Cancellations:

No Show & Cancellations.

Clients must give 24-hour notice to cancel an appointment so that it may be made available to others. Cancellations must be made during working hours Monday – Friday

between 8:00 am & 3:00 pm. If made on Stats, Saturday or Sunday will result in a No Show.

 

Late cancellation is defined as any cancellation or reschedule made with less than 24 hours’ notice. Canceling/Rescheduling in this manner will result in a $15 fee per pet. Repeated late canceling/rescheduling can result in being placed on the “Do Not Serve” list and future appointments can be denied.

 

A No-Show is defined as a missed appointment without canceling in any manner. Canceling in this manner will result in a $15 fee per pet. If two appointments are recorded as No-Shows, then the client will be required to pre-pay the full price of the appointment at the time of scheduling. The pre-paid amount is non-refundable and non-transferable. Repeatedly missing appointments in this manner can result in being placed on the “Do Not Serve” list and future appointments can be denied.
 

If your pet arrives 10 minutes or more late to the appointment it is subject to cancel and will be marked as a No-Show, as I am appointment only need to run on time for all clients . 

Disclaimer

I warrant that my dog has had all the initial puppy vaccines & at least 1 rabies vaccine required by law, and that my dog is healthy to the best of my knowledge. If pet is hurt or becomes ill, Shelly's Little Dog Grooming has permission to call or take pet to veterinarian of our choice if the owner is not reachable. Such expenses will be paid promptly by owner unless injury is direct result of negligence of Shelly's Little Dog Grooming. I will not be held responsible for any sickness or injury caused by the pet to itself during grooming. Shelly's Little Dog Grooming is not responsible for any accidental death of pet of the nature of pre-existing health condition or natural disasters (fire, storm, flood, etc.). Shelly's Little Dog Grooming will not be held responsible for clipper burn and/or minor nicks resulting from grooming of matted, neglected coats or for irritation caused by removing coat from pets possessing mild to severe skin allergy, nor will we be held responsible for stressful effects grooming may have upon an elderly pet.

I reserve the right to charge additional fees for services I consider over and above the norm covered by my standard rates. I also reserve the right to refuse service to customers whose pet may pose a threat to myself or to the other pets left in my care, whether it be an aggression problem, health problem, or parasite problems. I agree that I have read and understand the rules and conditions for Shelly’s Little Dog Grooming. I understand that my dog, my guests, or I may be videotaped or photographed and that these images become the property of Shelly's Little Dog Grooming. I agree to release, hold harmless, acquit, will indemnify and forever discharge the partnership from all, and in all manner of action and actions, suits, damages, judgments, executions, claims, and demands whatsoever, in law or in equity, which I or any other person I have with me during grooming at Shelly's Little Dog Grooming . Please pick up pets no later than 30 minutes after I have called to inform you that your pet is ready to go home Fee’s will be applied after the 30 min.
